Our Volunteer Vacancies

Volunteer with us

In 2016 we received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK.

None of our activities would be possible without the time dedicated to our community activities by our large team of enthusiastic and good-humoured local volunteers.

Look at our volunteer vacancies to find out more about volunteering with us, the opportunities that are available, and how you can make a real impact on your local community.

We need volunteers who can be available from as little as an hour a week so get in touch to find out how you can use your experience to inspire others, or develop your skills to enhance your CV and career.

Vacancies

Sensory Play Workers

Play worker volunteers support our interactive multi-sensory facility. Volunteers work with babies, children, young people and adults with disabilities to engage in sensory activities. Volunteers take up regular sessions or join a bank of volunteers that volunteer at a variety of sessions to suit their availability.

Catering Assistants

Our Café requires catering assistants to work in a busy cafe environment. Volunteers prepare and cook food, operate the till, interact with customers, and wash the dishes. Catering assistants undertake a Food Safety Level 2 qualification, and volunteer from one morning or afternoon every week to 3 days a week (including weekends).

Cycle Buddies

Cycle buddy volunteers support our inclusive and adapted bike project. Volunteers work with children and adults with disabilities to enjoy outdoor cycling on the parkland beside our community centre. Cycle buddies help maintain and clean our fleet of bikes. Our Cycles4all project opens five mornings a week (including Saturday), and occasional afternoons and events.

Boccia Coaches

Our popular Boccia club requires sports coaches (can be trainee or unqualified coaches) to support our social Boccia club. Our adult players have a variety of abilities, and new volunteers will help us to create a more competitive section of the club for the more dedicated players. Eastleigh Boccia Club met every Wednesday afternoon.

Trustees and Committee Members

Our charity and community centre is run by our community for the benefit of all the community. Our Board of Trustees share responsibility for governing our charity and directing the strategy and goals of our organisation. The Trustee team supports the Chief Executive Officer of the charity with their skills and professional expertise in areas such as governance & risk management, HR, finance and marketing. Board meetings are held four times a year, and the Finance and Resources sub-committee meets approximately six to eight times a year.

Individual Contributors

We always have a list of ongoing little projects from odd jobs and DIY to technical modifications. Please let us know if you would like to offer some time to get involved with day-to-day running of the centre.
