We are so excited to be back!

Christmas at the Pavilion 2022

Our much-loved Sensory4all project welcomed lots of visitors throughout December, hosting several Christmas and birthday parties as well as a Christmas Special Story time with lots of festive stories to share and items to play with including some very glittery snow, coloured ice cube trays, tinsel, and pinecones.

The Pavilion also held its first ever Christmas Karaoke Day as part of our One4all activity programme with visitors from local adult support groups including Purple Oak Support, The Grow Project, and Locks Heath Day Centre. We enjoyed lots of dancing and singing along to Christmas favourites and even a few Abba medleys before sitting down to a wonderful home cooked Christmas Lunch, made by our fantastic team of kitchen volunteers.  A massive thank you to all of them, especially the amazing Debbie and Mary who worked tirelessly to prepare and cook food for over 140 people!

In addition to all the fun and excitement The Pavilion has continued to provide important help and support in line with our charitable aims of helping those most in need within local communities. Our on-site Blackbird Café recently launched its community kitchen in collaboration with Thrive Church and local food retailers to provide free food items to families struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. Project Coordinator Ali also organised a Christmas Present exchange for families in need and Community Development Manager Naomi joined forces with Aviva to arrange a Christmas Present Hamper Day to provide Christmas gifts for local children.

Project News: An exciting start to 2023

The Pavilion has already jumped into 2023 with the launch of our One4all projects; an activity programme which provides accessible, inclusive, and affordable activities for adults and the elderly regardless of age and abilities. Our project coordinators #team Chazzali, are particularly excited to launch our brand new ‘Sensory Social’ and ‘Sensory Active Sports’ programmes this month which have been designed to promote social interaction and physical activity opportunities for adults with learning difficulties.

In addition, we will be continuing with our very beloved Jukebox Jam music sessions, Young Hearts, and Arty-Crafty clubs for the over 55’s, Indoor Boccia in collaboration with District Sports and welcoming a brand-new exercise class, ‘Dancing with Belinda’.

Our flagship projects at the Pavilion Cycles4all, Little Pixies Stay & Play and Sensory4all have also opened their doors ready to welcome in the New Year, and we have seen our first customers of 2023 across all 3 projects. Lots of Little Pixies enjoyed a particularly busy first day back enjoying sand play and shell decorating at an indoor ‘Day at the Beach’ play session. Sensory4all have had several private session bookings and hosted its first 2023 birthday party! Friday morning Sensory playgroups also remain as popular as ever with this month’s theme focused on getting creative and enjoying lots of messy play. Over at the Cycles hangar staff have welcomed back school bookings and its Toddler activities for young children, as well as organising its usual private and ad-hoc bookings.

For more information about any of our projects please email our Project Coordinators or call the Pavilion team any weekday between 9am and 3pm.

Other news at the Pavilion on the Park

The Pavilion team have already been very busy behind the scenes! As well as celebrating our first birthday of the year (Happy Birthday Chazz!), staff have also been planning new community events including a Car Boot sale in February, our next Springtime family fun day and upcoming coronation celebrations. Our very hardworking site team have been very vigorously spring cleaning and providing on-site maintenance around the building and our admin and bookings team have been working very hard helping to prepare a considerable amount of birthday, christening, anniversary, gala, and fete bookings for the year ahead. We are also delighted to welcome a new member of the Pavilion family, Site Coordinator Laura who has wasted no time at all in fitting right in!

We are also very happy to announce that Pavilion on the Park is now part of the Warm Spaces hub. Anyone is welcome to pop into our Café, where we have a variety of games and books.

And lastly,

A big thank you to all our customers, guests, hirers, associates, and dedicated supporters. We are a very small team and a small local charity who work tirelessly with limited funds to offer support to everybody who come through our doors. Without your help be it through volunteering your time, donations of equipment or financial support we would not be able to do what we do.
