CORONAVIRUS… CYCLES4ALL IS BACK!!
Following guidance from the government, we have put Covid-secure measures in place. We want to make sure that participants, carers and our staff members are safe during the sessions so please read on:
- Our sessions will no longer run as drop-ins – we are introducing bookable time slots with a maximum number of 6 people able to book per slot (that includes cyclists and their supporters/carers). If you haven’t got a confirmed booking, you will not be able to cycle.
- We are encouraging all supporters/carers to cycle with their clients/family members, so that our staff members can keep a safe distance from participants. Carers are free, please do not book spaces for carers but let us know any additional bikes required by carers when making your booking.
- We are going to run 45-minute slots with 15-minute breaks between each slot to make sure all our cycles have been properly cleaned between users. Your 45-minute slot includes time that participants may need to transfer and be fitted on a cycle. You will be required to arrive on time for your cycling slot (please do not arrive earlier than your booked time), and to leave the cycle hangar promptly, although you may use the onsite café and toilet facilities before and after your cycle.
- Participants will book one cycle for their slot; changing cycles during that time slot will not be possible.
- We are keeping our charge at £5 per cyclist for now (no charge for carers), even though our costs have gone up – and we would prefer people to pay in advance online or by contactless card on the day. We are currently not accepting cash – this is not just because of the virus; going cashless helps us reduce our cash handling costs, so we hope you support our change to card payments. If you are unable to pay by card, please let us know when you make your booking and we can send you an invoice to pay by bank transfer.
- We will not be giving out paper receipts – if you pay on arrival please ask for an email receipt, and if you pay online you will automatically be sent a receipt.
- If you have your own Helmet this will help, but if not ours will be disinfected after use.
- Hand sanitiser will be available at the session; we will ask everyone to use it before they cycle.
- If a staff member needs to come closer than 2 metres to a participant, he/she will be wearing protective equipment like a mask, visors, gloves etc. We will then also ask the participant to put on a mask (except WHERE EXEMPT).
- There are outdoor toilets available adjacent to the Cycle Hangar. If you need access to our Changing Places facility (with hoist), please let a member of staff and we will give you access.
- The Blackbird Café adjacent to the Cycle Hangar is open from 9am Wed to Sun. The café is currently only serving takeaway and only accepting card payments. Please bring a camping chair if you wish to sit on the park and enjoy a coffee after your cycle.
Our staff and volunteers cannot wait to welcome you back. They will be doing all they can to ensure you have a good time, even with these new rules.
