We are delighted to announce that our Sensory4all project is joining forces with Open Sight and Music Bugs to create a new series of music-based sensory sessions for blind and visually impaired children.
Following a successful pilot scheme last month, this exciting new partnership will officially launch in July.
Twice a month, families with visually impaired babies and young children can attend these stimulating 60 minute sessions, which combine music and song with textural sensory play.
Sensory4all Project Co-ordinator Ali Stubbington couldn’t be more thrilled about this upcoming collaboration:
This is an exciting chance to collaborate with another charity which also works to provide play opportunities for children with disabilities. Working together creates more inclusive safe spaces and learning-rich environments for babies and children with visual impairments – and that can only benefit the physical and mental wellbeing of these young people and their families.
These new musical sensory sessions will take place monthly in the Sensory Suite at the Pavilion on the Park, starting on Monday 7th July. The sessions are organised by Open Sight – a Hampshire-based charity dedicated to supporting individuals living with, or at risk of, low vision or blindness. These sessions are exclusively for families referred to their service – please visit their website for more information on how to book your child’s place and access their services. The musical part of each session will be provided by the talented folks at Music Bugs.
